It's horrible. Superman has switched colors to BROWN? No thanks. Idiots.

Gerry Turnbull over on the JBF provided his version of this that I can live with.

Not crazy about that belt buckle or the actor's "look".

That does look better...get rid of the speedo and put back in the red and the bigger emblem...all better choices than Singer made.

Something about the collar and where the cape attaches looks off.

my first thought was that it looked like a pretty good fan-made costume...maybe its the leather/rubber boots...?

This shot moved me from "probably will see it" to "probably won't see it."

Im sure the final version will be touched up/special effects so it looks better and has the right colors.

I trust Bryan Signer...he has delivered the good on Xmen, X2, Usual suspects, etc...

That costume is SO bad.

They have him in actual Spandex! Oh freaking hell. The Embossed S doesn't work, either. It says "Hi! I'm Embossed because it worked so well on Spider-Man's costume."

This movie is going to suck.

I know we're talking costumes here, but does Routh remind anyone else of Jason Schwartzman? Everytime I see him I'm reminded of the nerd from 'Rushmore'... playing Superman.

Stylistically, this costume is in line with the Fleisher Studios animated Superman Model.

Probably someone was trying to come up with a look carrying SOME historical significance. Probably also, there is an intention of releashing merchandise material that is obviously tied into THIS Superman movies. "Yeah, our Superman action toys are the ones with the more ... hum ... discrete, S-thing on his chest."

The worst thing about this photo is that it demonstates that Routh just looks too young for the role -- despite being about the same age as Chris Reeve back in 1977. This movie could easily be titled SuperBOY The Movie. I hope Routh comes off more mature on-camera that he does on this shot.

But, yeah, I'm beginning to smell a disaster of Joel Schumacherian proportions. Not a good sign.

This time, if I see ice skates popping out of the boots, I AM BLOODY WELL walking out!

Who put Ken Wahl in the costume (the horrible costume, by the way)??

I saw this costume and wanted to burn the copy of USA Today in which it appeared. I know there were a lot of folks that agreed with me and were working the message boards over the weekend, but unfortunately, I think this is what we're definitely stuck with.

Guh. Just saw it featured today on some news show. Kevin Smith opened his mouth again and uttered some dumb stuff. I think the movie might be okay, but ti is seeming less likely that it will be a good Superman movie.

Wherever this "Superman Returns" from? Please ... send him back.
