I'd prefer a sequel.
Hardy and Theron absolutely hated each other...it's a shame but I'm pretty sure that's why we got a prequel.
The other possible reason is that the first one was not good.
It grossed $380 million and garnered 6 Academy Awards as well as many other accolades. "Good" isn't part of the decision. (And I am not defending the film, I wasn't overly impressed. But I know I am in the minority.)

Yeah, but in their hearts they have to know "we made a crap movie." So they thought "let's change it up so hopefully this one will good. But probably not."

I've never heard anyone say Mad Max: Fury Road was not good. I am perplexed as to why you (either of you) didn't like it. I liked it, but would have liked more Mad Max and less Furiosa. Not because there was anything wrong with Furiosa, I just go to a Mad Max movie to see Max be a bit more involved.

She does have huge, wide-set eyes. And she acts fairly odd, like she is drugged up, in a lot of her movies and in her appearances. I liked in the VVitch, and not much else after that. But, I haven't seen the Queen's Gambit, so there is that out there.

I faced my eyes toward the screen, and was not interested in what would happen. I wanted it to be over. I don't think that's what they were going for.
