I love Carrie, The Untouchables, Scarface, and Mission: Impossible, but Phantom of the Paradise all the way for me.

He has too many great ones to choose one. I'm partial to his earlier films, such as Phantom of the Paradise, Carrie, The Fury, Sisters, Dressed to Kill and Blow Out, but just last week I watched Snake Eyes for the first time, and, though lower tier DePalma, I really enjoyed it. Nic Cage's insane performance probably helped, but DePalma did some great stuff in it.

I went with Carrie...thought about The Untouchables, and would have been MI with a different story, so that leaves his adaptation.

You know, since we're in March Madness, it would be interested to set this up as a bracket with those other UCLA bums from the early 70s - best films of DePalma, Scorsese, Lucas, and Spielberg. Could do it by genre, or by director. But boy did they change cinema.

Scarface.

Just saw it at the movies on the big screen last month in a revival. What a flick!

And to top it off, visited Miami Beach 2 weeks ago and stood right where the movie was filmed on the famous staircase where Al Pacino goes upstairs to complete a drug deal and suffers terrible torture Cartel style!
