Walsh died from cardiac arrest on Tuesday at a hospital in St. Albans, Vermont, his longtime manager Sandy Joseph said.

Tons of film credits, but I'll always remember him as the swim coach in "Back To School" and the guy who hates cans in "The Jerk".

Heh. USA Today film critic Mike Clark wrote that a typical Emmet Walsh character was “a cesspool in a flowered shirt.”
I recall him in a lot of bit roles like as a sniper shooting motor oil cans instead of Steve Martin's Jerk character. He was
also the diving coach in Rodney Dangerfield's Back to School. Always memorable moments. Thanks, Emmet.
