Neil Young Archives Vol. I: 1963-1972 is the first in a series of archival box sets encompassing Young’s entire career. Vol. I was originally released on June 2, 2009, in three formats: A 10-disc deluxe edition in either Blu-ray or DVD and an 8-disc CD box. Out of print for over a decade, the 8-CD box set is now being re-issued in its original format – housed in the “Garypak”, a unique package designed by Young’s long-time art director, the late Gary Burden. Each CD has its own custom sleeve.

I saw this a few days ago, and was disappointed that it's being released in the same packaging as the original release. I already own it, but if they had released it in the same format as Volume 2, I would've bought it again as I hate the so-called "Garypak". It doesn't fit on my shelves well at all.

Even though I have the Blu-Ray version, I'd be tempted to pick up, but the price is prohibitive. Curious what that price compares to the original CD release back in the day. Oh well.

I paid $99 Canadian (our dollar was close to par with the U.S. at the time).

Thanks basically double now. Actually I think I paid less for the blu ray (and that was when they 'found a few more', so already was premium.
