Smashing! Xolo Maridueña is a fantastic actor and I'm happy he got a super hero gig.

"Those familiar with the source material know that the man who donned the alien suit before Jaime Reyes was Ted Kord, a genius scientist and occasional member of the Justice League."
Personally, I think this trailer looks fun and I'll see the movie.
If I were a non-comic book nerd and just part of the general audience, this would look exactly as generic and middle-of-the-road as a superhero movie as Black Adam and Shazam 2 did. Don't see this one breaking $100 million. Hope I'm wrong.
Trailer looks good, it has a teenage Iron Man vibe to it.

Ted Kord will never happen. He isn't Hispanic. There's really no point in pining for a version of that anyway, better to read the old stories.
Despite being my favorite, Ted Kord never carried a series past two years. Most people know him from JLI. Both Dan Garrett and Jaime Reyes have more solo stories and far more pop culture impact.
Of the Charlton heroes, Captain Atom and The Question seem to be the most marketable.
