Creed frontman issues apology

Creed frontman Scott Stapp has issued a public apology for allegedly throwing a glass bottle at his wife's head earlier this week.

As previously reported, Stapp was arrested at his home in Palm Beach, Florida on May 20 after his wife, Jaclyn Nesheiwat -- a former Miss New York USA -- called the police and told them her husband had thrown a bottle at her.

A recording of the call has been leaked to the media, in which Nesheiwat said, "He just threw a glass bottle at me...He just came home, he's wasted...he's been out partying all night," according to MTV.com.

She allegedly also told police that he was on drugs and pot and that they had several guns in their home.

In response, Stapp issued the following statement: "I am truly sorry and seek forgiveness from my wife, as she has done the same seeking forgiveness from me. We both know we were wrong in how we handled the argument and in some of the allegations that were made. Now we are trying to move forward as a family."

As previously reported, charges of aggravated assault against Stapp have been reduced to a misdemeanour by a Florida judge.
