Tiger Shark was the first one I saw when they were reprinting the Buscema run in the early '80s. I thought he was pretty badass.

This was the first Marvel comic I ever bought off the stand, so I have to go with Ben Grimm.
Besides, Namor's rogues gallery is pretty weak.

I feel the proper answer is the original Human Torch, but I don't really have any nostalgia for Golden Age Marvel. I wasn't exposed to much of that when I was growing up - Marvel reprinted a ton of '60s stuff in my era (1976-1985), but essentially no Golden Age stuff. With DC's digests and treasuries, I was more exposed to their Golden Age as well as their Silver Age stuff.

The cover to Sub Mariner #6 - and the art inside - are awesome.

Namor works best for me AS the villain.

It was one of my earliest purchases, but in the reprint edition. I'm blanking on what Namor's reprint title was called circa 1980.
Edited to add: they called it Tales to Astonish (but it was not the old numbering title, it was a reprint book)

He's in some issues of Wolverine written by Archie Goodwin and drawn by Byrne. So I voted for him, because ... I mean, JOHN BYRNE
