Sherlock's right, of course. It looks totally different to green Kryptonite.

Doesn't look symmetrical to me. But I'm not using a magnifying glass.

Well, it is an "unnatural" symmetry. The kind of symmetry that's not symmetrical.

Did Superman get a second wish? Where did Holmes go?

Superman did not need to waste a wish to dispose of Holmes.

Manifesting Sherlock Holmes was actually Superman's second wish. He hadn't yet realised that the red kryptonite had given him the power to make his wishes come true.

His first wish was that it would become foggy so Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen couldn't see him change from Clark Kent to Superman.

His third wish, after Holmes explained the red K's effect, was to bring back his dead parents -- Jor-El and Lara as well as Ma and Pa Kent -- to advise him wisely on how to use his amazing new wish power. But the effect wears off minutes later, and Holmes along with his parents all vanish. (A red K effect usually lasts about 48 hours, but not this time, because the symmetry of its contours was unnatural.)

How does Holmes know it is Red Kryptonite?
Is it because he is a manifestation of Superman?

Is it because he is a manifestation of Superman?

You should get an IMWAN Yes Prize for this. ;)

This was the beginning of that Wold-Newton stuff, wasn't it?

The Superman/Holmes panel reminds me of this...
