Has This Year's Model ever been issued on CD with the original American cover art, which has Costello's face behind the camera??

The Elvis Costello section at Newbury Comics is amusingly overfilled. Depending on the album, you have a choice of:

the Rykos
the Rhinos
or the Hip-Os.

And they even had the Columbia version of My Aim Is True, which means they have four versions of the same album.

The irony is that sealed copies of the two-disc Rhino My Aim Is True and This Year's Model were selling for $9.98, one dollar less than the new single-disc Hip-O versions.

Can you imagine a Costello newbie trying to wade their way through multiple versions of the same albums??? :o

Yes, on US Columbia in the early 80's.
The disc also had the same mix of "Lip Service" that appeared on
US vinyl and the US Rhino cd. The Ryko cd worldwide had a
different mix of "Lip Service" where the rhythm guitar was in the middle,
not stereo (ADT).

So, two reasons to get the Columbia cd:

There's another funny variation that someone on the Hoffman board put up,
let's see if I have it handy . . . it's really odd!

Not sure how many of you out there are completists and have to get these but if you already own the Rhino's then DON'T BOTHER with these new ones. The master is the same and after getting the two new collections I thought I would love these as well; based on those two having great photos in the books.

Well the books on the four digi's I just got suck! I knew there would be no new liners or even repeats from the Rhino sets but I thought there would at least be cool period photos. Nothing except the lyrics to the songs. That and the little Obi on the outside is all these new digi's have. At least I only paid $8 for each but what a gyp. Oh well, live and learn. It's what I get for being a competist. Damn.
BTW, the ones I got are Get Happy, Goodbye Cruel World, Trust and King of the World; all promos. Consider yourself warned, again.
