The style is "let's have anime animators modify their style slightly to more resemble the western super heroes, but still have that anime feel". I don't care for it. I do like many of the animated movies, but it's because they're doing a good story, not because the animation is what I'd like to see.

What animation style would you like? I don't think these are overly anime, they look more like a normal modern Western cartoon style to my eyes.

To me this is hideous, along with the armor look.
This is better
I prefer the Timm look. The Long Halloween ones looked better.

The faces are certainly not anime style, no. It's more the exaggerated limb length, tiny feet, weightless feeling about movement...they don't all exhibit all of these features, but they all have some of the elements. TAS or the Fleischer Superman is what I like best.

It's basically unfair to compare any modern animation to Fleischer! I won't argue that it's not the best, lol.
But that said, and I'm sure which DC animated movie you are referring to, but the one most typically used from I've seen is this one -- it's the one they use in their moves that follow the same continuity and aren't direct adaptations of a specific artist's style (like New Frontier or some such).
To my eye, the proportions aren't terribly different from the standard "heroic proportions" of fan favorite artists like Perez, Byrne, and Jim Lee. (I think these proportions were popularized for superheroes by Neal Adams and John Buscema, but I'm not sure.)
Justice league Crisis on Two Earths is the best DC cartoon and the best animation style.
Yeah, I think so as well. That said, if they could have gotten the New Frontier cartoon to feel a little more like Cooke's cartooning (and I know he did the models), I think that could have been my favorite.

Something off about it, I'm not sure how to describe it. The head's too small maybe (or just the faces)? To angular? I don't know...I just don't care for it and it reminds me somehow of anime.
They are drawn with really sharp angles instead of curves. It kinda throws me off, probably because I grew up on Filmation, Hanna-Barbera and Warner Bros. cartoons.
Yeah, the angles and the leaning-backwards postures, as if they're being pulled off and up into a vanishing point perspective. That gives them the small heads.
Aquaman's hip is broken or his left thigh bulges out weirdly, like he's shoved a baby dolphin down his tights.

Agree. Ugly, to me.
