This morning, I was re-reading the first Holiday Grab-Bag treasury edition from Marvel

Click for full size

when suddenly the book slipped out of its' covers. The book itself is still stapled together, but now I need to glue it back together.

Any recommendations as to how to do this? Specific sort of glue? Is regular crazy glue okay?

Hopefully someone here knows the answer.

I recall that older books were glued to the spines using animal-based glue products.
You'll want something that dries clear (doesn't yellow) is PH neutral / Acid-Free.

They do sell specific glues for book binding, but I don't know if it's worth your time:

Chris,

Try the Elmer's one that Beachy linked to. Don't use too much. And don't sniff it!

Only right here, on IMWAN, could someone ask this question and receive such a practical and helpful response.

We're skirting dangerously close to relevance in this instance, but it's still a question about comics so...the irrelevance quotient remains extremely strong.

Well, in this particular case it helps that you've got both a good model builder and an experienced librarian on hand. They know glue!

Good luck getting that glued back together! It looks like a lovely cover that you're trying to salvage.

Alright, if you say so Miss Linda.

I knew this question would be perfect for the "Upstairs" group and I was right.

Thanks so much Beachy!
