Description
The Rolling Stones celebrated their golden anniversary in 2012 & 2013 by embarking on the 50 & Counting Tour, a 30-show itinerary for North America and Europe. In late 2012, when the Stones released its Grrr greatest hits set, they held a mini-tour around the eastern US, particuarly NJ. This must be a collection of these shows.

I was at one of these shows.

They only did three US dates just before Christmas in 2012.

We saw them in Newark.

There were also a couple of shows in the UK.

Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor guested.

There have been rumors that this will be the Newark, NJ show.

According to setlist.fm, they did 2 Newark shows, 1 on Dec 13, the other on Dec 15, 2012. It says the Dec 15 show was pay per view...

Slightly different track lists, and guest artists. Maybe they could pick and choose and combine the best of both nights into a really big shew ??

I've added a third link to the opening post, for a 2CD set with no video component. All three pre-order links should be going live by the end of today (Wednesday).

Looks interesting. Looking forward to hearing the Mick Taylor and Black Keys appearances.

I would love to ask Billboard- what makes this release the Stones' "definitive" live collection? Is it because it's the only release of the GRRR tour so is, by definition, definitive? Is it more definitiver than previous Stones live albums? Is it just an impressive sounding word they don't understand and thought they'd throw in?

I was thinking the same thing. The definitive live Stones' albums for me Ya-Ya or the El Mocambo club.

When you're talking a 60-year career, I don't think you can release anything that's a night or two from one tour and call it definitive. (Mocambo is probably my favorite.)

Agreed. Mocambo was a rare case of Mick getting it right re: vault releases.

The show we saw on Dec. 13 had “Respectable” and “Around and Around” (that was a shocker!) and neither of those are here.

I already have the show from Dec. 15 on DVD, so I may pass on this.

Brussels 1973 and El Mocambo are definitive in my opinion

Totally agree. Great choices and they are my 2 go-to live albums for the Stones. Just a tad partial to Brussels, but they are both superb!!
