I'm finding out that Carlos Pacheco had retired in September after being diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), which "leads to a progressive loss of motor neurons, eventually paralysis and comes with a greatly reduced lifespan". I have even read unconfirmed reports that he may have passed away this morning.

Incredibly sad end to an immense talent that never really became the star he should have, at least based on his talent. Hoping for the best for him and his family.

I liked his artwork.

This blows.

It looks like he has indeed passed away, his son confirmed it. May he rest in peace.
