Yes...but at least something will be coming out that I care to see. I struggle to care about movies these days, even ones I would once have been interested in.
I was pleased that I liked the first Dune film, so I'm hoping for a similar - or even better - film with the next one. I'm interested in seeing precisely what this director's going to do.

Interestingly, Star Wars was always an exercise in nostalgia - an updated movie serial adventure, as much fairy tale as science fiction, evocative of the cinematic past as well as being set in the past.
Dune was/is an attempt to imagine the future, and I wonder if the second one will be even more weirdly disquieting than the first one was.

It's extremely minimal...but it's a trailer for a trailer, I think...look like they're doing something practical... form triumphs over function in this instance.

I am as excited for this as I was for Phantom Menace. Dune is my favorite book of all time... Read it yearly from ages 15-30ish. I purposely didn't go see Part 1 so I would not be gutted if it was great and there was never a Part 2. Cannot wait to sit through 6 hours of both back to back. One big story.
