It's been all downhill since Ted Baxter was fired.

Hey, you're right. It's been all downhill since Ted Baxter retired.

Clearly the reporter was busy investigating the death of Crosby's muse with [checks notes] a live album and a Crosby/Nash compilation forthcoming...

This incorrect info has been in every article I've seen about this new live album. That makes me think it's in the original press release that all these other articles are based on.

OK, I love these guys, and Stills and Young, too. And C&N done some stellar backup vocals on a lot of albums over the years. But a compilation of backup vocals? Really? Sorry, I've got most of this material, but that's not even the point -- the point is they're not the focus for any of this stuff. In some cases, you wouldn't even know it was them if you weren't told. Great work, sure. But this project feels like a real stretch to me. I'm not going to listen to something just because C&N did the harmonies. Come on, man.

After reading the other thread, I'm pretty sure it's just an awkward way of saying first ever live CD/DVD pairing...

I'm sorry to say, but as one (or several) of our own once said, this does indeed feel like a money grab. I'll just make a homemade comp when the tracklist is released... and save my $$$ for a worthwhile new/archival release.

if i recall correctly nash talked about doing this a long time ago and it kind of fell by the wayside, why he wants to resurrect this now is beyond me. i highly doubt that there is nothing out there that most of the real don't already have,.
as stated above, there is so much more out there that nash could do that would be much more relevant than this. and, oddly, this can't really be a very big money maker for them can it? i would imagine that the original artists would garner most of the royalties from something like this.
where are the 4 - 6 songs that got finished during the aborted rick rubin disaster?
the CSNY2K live project
the other 5 stills-young band songs with the crosby*nash vocals
and how about domestic CD releases of still stills, crosby and nash greatest hits (the green one), nash's earth and sky, the first crosby*nash album, young's trans and journey through the past soundtrack.
i mean if nash is looking for things to do........................

i mean if nash is looking for things to do........................ Why the HELL has there never been a domestic release of the Graham Nash/David Crosby album? It holds its own with nearly any of the great material being released by CSN or Y at the time. Full of excellent songs. Great production, great performances. It has a wonderful mood to it, autumnal, kind of somber, just beautiful. I've got the import release from years back, and it's OK. I've also got the 180 gram vinyl release, which is wonderful, but I'm getting lazy in my old age and vinyl is a bit of work, after all. For me, it's an important piece of the CSNY story. Somebody should do a high-end release of it. I'm pretty sure it was a top ten album in its day. It's an under appreciated gem. It's a better album by far than anything any of these guys will produce going forward.

greg,
i have been told on a couple of occasions that the first crosby*nash was released in the US, albeit for a very short while.
i can tell you this, i have been a CD hunter for over 30 years and i have never seen one, either in person or online.
and its not alone, i have also been told the same thing about 'allies'.

Renny, Graham Nash / David Crosby was only released on CD in Japan and Europe- there's never been a North American release. Allies has been released in the U.S. and Japan.
