Here are the links from the GNR official site for the Super Deluxe versions. The Amazon links will likely replace them later. Obviously makes no sense to order them from the GNR site because the current prices are full retail so there is absolutely no doubt that the Amazon prices will eventually be better than this (even though they will likely initially post the full retail price).

Note the Blu-ray is a Blu-ray video of a live show and not a Blu-ray audio with a surround mix of the album.

Note #2, a 50 piece orchestra was added to November Rain on all versions of this, so that track won't be the same as on the original album.

Look around on that site and you'll see there are a bunch of smaller versions available. 2 2 CD sets (1 for each album with different live material different from what is in the big box). 2 1 CD sets of just the original albums. 1 4 LP colored vinyl set of the original albums. 2 2 LP black vinyl set of each of the original albums.

I'm in for this but maybe not for the 7 cd version, depending on the price. But to have those live shows would be nice.

But..... the average price for a cd is anywhere from $10 to $13 these days. Top dollar for a single BR disc is no more than $25 (depending on the movie).
But..... $260? HAHAHA!!

Wouldn’t be surprised to see the set on sale at their site eventually. I think I got the Appetite 5.1 box for $29.99.

I've gotten burned by waiting for the price to come down..... when the item goes out of print.

Yep I ended up getting the Appetite box for a very discounted price. I would be more into this if it had the albums in 5.1 but it looks like the Blu-ray is a concert.

I’m not sure how much, but he posted about mixing “November Rain” with the orchestra.

Apparently Steven Wilson did remixes for this project but the Dolby Atmos mix won’t be released as the band has declined.

Steven’s new orchestral mix on November Rain will be included. Not enough for me to plunk down over $200 at this point.

Steven Wilson, jeez he is something else! I was shocked he was involved with KISS but now GnR? Wow! Busy busy boy..

I was going to wait on the Locked n' Loaded...$1000 box....to see if I could get it for $300 and then pull the trigger.

The "regular" Super Deluxe has a retail price of $180, and when the GNR site dropped the price to $40 I jumped all over it. I don't think I ever saw it at $30 but maybe it did get down that far. I know I paid $40 + shipping for mine and was very happy to get it at that price.

Much later on, Universal's website had the Locked n' Loaded set at $400 and then had a 25% off sale site-wide (with a few exceptions), and the Locked n' Loaded set was eligible for the discount. But since the Super Deluxe has all the same optical disks as the Locked n' Loaded set, I ended up passing even though it reached my buy price. Haven't really regretted it either.

I feel sorry for the people who paid $1000 for that box. If anyone is still interested, it's on the GNR site for $400. The Universal store lists it as Sold Out, maybe it will reappear there during a sale for $300, but for now they don't have any.

I think a reasonable price for the Use Your Illusion 7 CD + Blu-ray set would be something like $175. But I don't think I'd be a buyer at that price as I was hoping some demo material and maybe a couple unreleased songs would make it in there (although I don't know if anything was leftover in terms of unreleased songs, was always under the impression that they really emptied the vault for these records). Just two live shows isn't enough to get me all that excited. Would definitely buy if a bargain price ever shows up like with the Appetite box, but they probably learned their lesson after over-manufacturing that one.

Also have been looking at the Ritz footage (yes, the 91 footage, not the 88 footage) on Youtube and it's obvious that some of the stuff is an audience recording but some of it is multi-angle and looks like it was pro-shot and to me the video from what is up, even what could be pro-shot looks really, really rough. Rough enough to NOT do a 4K scan on it. So I'm assuming they must have much, much, much, much, much better footage than what is on Youtube. Just a bit leary of this because the first track they've thrown up on Youtube for this set is You Could Be Mine from that show and it only has the audio. If the video was all that, you think they would have thrown it out there right away to get potential customers all juiced up.

You know, you’re right - I went back and looked and I paid $39.99 for the Appetite box.

I also couldn't help but notice that all the vinyl in this set has a digital step included.

Hmmm...it's telling that apparently all of the previously unreleased bonus material is live? It makes sense; I seem to recall that the purpose of releasing two albums was to clear out all the music that they had in the can, save for the "Spaghetti Incident?" covers.

For once, the 2-CD sets look a lot more intriguing. Sometimes--SOMETIMES--such curated, hybrid live sets can be far more satisfying than a single concert.

The only b-sides from the album singles were either live tracks or songs that already appeared on the Appetite box. There aren’t many rumored outtakes from the era either. But GNR were also one of the bands who lost tapes to the Universal fire so that could be a reason too.

i was working in a record store when these were released.

we had a midnight sale, and sold a shitload of them.

then, in about 6 - 8 months we started to refuse to take them in trade because had so many of them.

same exact thing happened with michael jackson's 'dangerous'.........which we had so many of we were giving away a copy of it with every new CD purchased and people were actually refusing to take one.

I believe they were synths replicating a string section.
