I have a gold CD Video EP from this era. It was made in the UK. The video is for Paper In Fire. In that era, I never could figure out how to play the PAL video on my DVD player or computer. In looking up to post the picture of the disc, I was surprised to find there actually was a U.S. version of the video EP.
The audio track list is: 1. Paper In Fire 2. Never Too Old 3. Under The Boardwalk 4. Cold Sweat and then listed is video: Paper In Fire

I was able to play my CD-Vs on my Laserdisc player, which I regret giving to a fair-weathered friend when I moved states.

The USA listing for the 2CD set has been temporarily pulled, probably in preparation for adding the box set, which will be pre-orderable here when available:

According to Wikipedia, when putting together The Lonesome Jubilee, he had two discs worth of material but didn't fit the flow of the album as we know it. Hopefully this one will be next with the material that didn't make the cut.

I'm not a big fan, but when seeing the title of this thread my first thought was, WOW, I can't believe this is only a 2CD set as this was a big, big record. So it was no surprise to see a bigger deluxe version when scrolling through the thread.
But am kind of surprised that there is only 2 CDs of material. I would have figured a disc with the original mix remastered, a disc with the new mix, a disc with the unreleased + demo + rough mix and then at least a fourth disc of live material (a complete show spread over 2 discs make it a 5 CD collection).
Price could get really ugly for the deluxe set with a 12" + 7" + Blu-ray. If I'm not mistaken, Mercury is part of Republic which is part of the Universal Music Group...which means this would be under the same umbrella as the recent Kiss and Rush super deluxe sets and the price-tags on those are ridiculous.

I wonder if the Oppo would play this? John G, are you still here? What do you think?

Brooklyn OWNS this charmer!
My sphincter tightens every time an artist does a "(Current Year) Remix" of any of their past work. Beatles excepted. Genesis ruined most of their catalog this way.
Listening to the 2022 Mix of "Small Town"...not bad! Might be in for this one. Not so far from the original that I cringe.

The bright side (for me at least) is I have the 2005 remasters. So, I'll have the best of both worlds.

This is my favorite album of his.
Disappointed they didn’t add his Farm Aid set from that year which was something they easily could’ve added and even made donations in the name of Farm Aid since Mellencamp is one of the organizers and has played every one (I think the next one is this month).
I’ll get this.

I sure wish that a remix & remaster could be applied to Bruce Hornsby's first album. I love the songs, but have always hated the original mix. I'd love to see the same thing applied as the 2-CD version of the upcoming Scarecrow set.
