Harking back to the heyday of soul and R&B, British Soul Power celebrates the impact of those treasured genres on the British music scene at the time of its height in the 1960s. When black American music entered the mainstream through an early modernist mindset, its impact would be felt wider through Radio and TV and become not just an influence on white musicians and singers in the UK, but an obsession.
