The Studio Albums 2009-2018 is a collection of Mark Knopfler studio albums, plus a collection of studio b-sides, bonus tracks & 2 previously unreleased songs - `Back In The Day' & `Precious Voice From Heaven'. Audio overseen by original mastering engineer Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering. Mini-vinyl style 6CD collection in clamshell-style box. Original studio albums housed in gatefold sleeves with folded printed lyric sheets. Bonus disc in single sleeve wallet with lyrics insert plus 5 art cards.

Presumably (in addition to the bonus disk) this will contain Get Lucky (2009), Privateering (2012), Tracker (2015) and Down the Road Wherever (2018). (Privateering is a double CD.)

as Mark Knopfler is the same composer for the Dire Straits as with his own solo material,
i find it odd how much i really enjoy the former but really dislike most of the latter.
given that... i'm holding-out for a single-disc anthology of sorts.

Some of it's too laid back for my own tastes, but there's easily enough quality material on his solo albums to fill two disks. It's odd that there has been no compilation yet. (Private Investigations: The Best of Dire Straits & Mark Knopfler does not count.)

I've been wanting one for a long time. His solo stuff is good, I'm good with a collection.
