I believe she filled in for the B-52s when Cindy WIlson went on hiatus. As such, she was one of the performers at the first rock concert I ever attended.
I'll raise a glass to her, for sure.

She did the Twin Peaks theme, didn't she?

The song "Falling" was written for Julee's debut album "Floating Into The Night"(released September 1989) by Angelo Badalamenti and David Lynch. They used the instrumental backing track for the theme to Twin Peaks (released April 1990). Her appearance on SNL was May 12, 1990.

Well, damn. Loved her voice and the atmosphere she brought to TP.
I hope her journey is short and free of pain.

It's just redone as a longer instrumental bit for the theme of the show.

And she was a last-minute replacement too, when Sinead O'Connor bailed from the show to protest Andrew Dice Clay being the host. Pretty impressive showing, given that she probably had very little prep time! I didn't recognize her when I saw her doing bouncy dance numbers live on stage, a year or two later. Took many years for me to put that all together.

I was totally unfamiliar with "TP" when I saw her on SNL, but that song still stuck with me. The first time I heard the instrumental version was when SNL did a "TP" parody the following season -- same episode when they finally got Sinead on. I recognized the melody right away as the song by Ms. Julee. All of which is to say ... RIP. Definitely sorry to hear she's gone. (And now reading the article I see they mentioned the B-52s connection right up top, foolish me.)
