does gefffen still have the rights to those 6 neil young albums and 'lucky thirteen"?
also, 'this will be a first time US release for 'eldorado', which does have 2 songs unavailable anywhere else, which is not to say they won't show up on 'archives 3" (if there is one)

It would seem so, as none of them have been released on another label. (Actually, "Old Ways" was released by MFSL, but that was by arrangement with Geffen). I'm surprised Neil didn't have a clause to have the rights revert to him after so many years. Also surprised Geffen didn't just sell them back to him at the time of the lawsuit, given how unhappy they were with the albums. (edit: Maybe they tried and Neil didn't feel it was worth it to own them!)

Yes, I am in for this box just because I never got a copy of "Eldorado".

you know that 'eldorado' won't be coming out as a stand alone release, 'time fades away' still hasn't.

Yes, that's why I'm getting the box. I decided to pass on the second box because I only wanted "Time Fades Away" and figured it would get a standalone release. After the box went out of print and started going for big bucks, I came across a copy in a large chain store here in Canada where it was priced at $45 so I picked it up immediately. That's when I started to realize that the market had changed and if you want a new rerelease these days, best to buy right away because they aren't pressing a lot of copies and things aren't staying in print very long.

Pass. Bring on either Archives III, or some new, unheard archival releases (if any exist).
'archives 3' will surely prove to be interesting.
i figured it for 'eldorado' and 'interstate'....maybe 'where the buffalo roam' and few more songs from the MYV 'unplugged'....'the complex sessions' and, if there is anything, some CSNY stuff.
looks like no geffen (according to the original album series anyway) so how far will it go........'silver and gold" was 2000, i t might stop there.

I got this set over the weekend and have been playing quite a bit. I don't understand why "Eldorado" was limited to Japan and Australia on its initial release. I think it's a really strong little EP. The production is great, lots of different textures for a Neil release. And I am the world's only " Re*Ac*Tor" fan, so there's that.
