i've never been a big fan of buying/collecting soundtracks (especially those rife with incidental banality), so with few exceptions (ok... probably a few hundred), i am VERY happy to add this one for H&M.
i feel a sudden and odd subliminal need to shop... hmmm...

This is the movie I always bring up about giving a movie a few tries before declaring whether it’s a good one or bad one. Years ago me and the wife rented it on VHS and didn’t like it but upon a second viewing now we love it. The Matrix is another one for me, didn’t really care for it the first time but now I consider it a stone cold classic (not the two sequels though).

i came to this movie as a 20-something for the first viewing - i think i would have quite liked it as a teenager, however. certainly not a movie for the masses.

A name you don't hear often enough when the '70s greatest directors are mentioned, Ashby directed some absolute classics in that decade: "The Last Detail," "Bound for Glory," "Coming Home," and "Being There." He also did that Rolling Stones concert film from the 1981 tour. Earlier in his career he worked on "The Big Country", the film that won Burl Ives his hugely deserved supporting actor Oscar.

Even though I'm still not sure I really need it since I already have the latest remasters of Mona and Tea I am glad his remastering campaign is continuing, and knowing me I'll probably get it eventually anyway just to have the two new songs on CD.
