RIP.

(Although I am tempted to ask if maybe he just went up to his room.)

R.I.P.

I don't recall seeing him in any other TV shows...but he was in one of the best shows ever, so he did well.

I remember him more from Superman III and Willow.

Hmmm... according to that article, he actually died in September. That's odd.

Not really odd, many people die in September.

He also appeared in Never Say Never Again (the unofficial 1983 James Bond movie with Sean Connery) and
in 1985's Death Wish III.

Now, that O'Herlihy is gone, that leaves us with one remaining Chuck Cunningham...

He did a TON of one-offs in the UK. Lots of period mysteries, Usually playing a loud American tycoon in a white suit whose murder Miss Marple gets to solve. Hang on, looked it up. It was Tommy & Tuppence. Then Jonathan Creek. Then Tom Barnaby.

The article quotes him as saying that his role on "Happy Days" gave him a valuable break, even if it didn't amount to much in and of itself. That's good to hear. I always felt kind of sorry for him for having had such an unsatisfying role. The writers apparently had so little use for his character that they didn't even bother to properly write him out. Hence the "Chuck Cunningham Syndrome" trope, where a recurring character vanishes with no explanation whatsoever. Not the first or last time it ever happened in a TV series, but became especially notorious due to a Christmas episode in which Chuck appeared being re-run each year, thus periodically reminding viewers of the existence of that older Cunningham son who mysteriously disappeared without a trace.

RIP

RIP

Daphne,

The role of Chuck was recast for season 2 with Randolph Roberts. In fact, it's Roberts who appears as Chuck in that Xmas episode.

Wow...I had forgotten that there were TWO Chucks. Shows how little an impression Chuck left! And how long it has been since I've seen any "Happy Days."

They want us to forget Chuck #2. Oh, that's what they want us to do!
