just finished watchin series 2 with Fiona tonight.

Yes, the sequel will be a series featuring Gene Hunt, set in the 1980s, and he'll be saddled with a woman partner. So it'll be full of 80s music and otherwise the same (no Sam though).

I've read in other articles that Gene's DI will have

studied the reports Sam filed after waking up, but before he jumped back, describing his experiences in 1973. She will already know who Hunt, Carling and Skelton are when she arrives back in 1981


It will have to be damned good, without Sam & Annie. I'd be fine with no Sam, but I'll really miss Annie. I suppose they'll be too busy, with three kids in grade school by 1981.
