Well we all had a great time Saturday night in NYC.
I drove everyone in from LI and we hit a little snag at 6Ave where a street fair was going on so I couldn't park in my usual parking garage. But we found another nearby and it was off to the Jimbo recommended
Dallas BBQ.
That place was something else....large and inviting....we were seated immediately. They even have crabcakes though I settled for a steak burger.
Everyone else enjoyed some honey slathered chicken n ribs.
Jimbo knows his restaurants.
Then it was off to the show where we lucked out with no wait to get in and found seats in the rear immediately.
The opening act "Three" were actually six guys from Woodstock NY that sounded tight and played very well but need to work on more memorable songs.
PT then came out and played their entire new album
Fear Of A Blank Planet for us in its entirety.
We then were treated to some oldies like "Sever" from the album
Signify and a rare track called "Drown With Me" which should have been on an album...its that good.
The encore was explosive with the band jamming to
Mother And Child and then finishing with
Halo (where it seemed like Steve Wilson forgot some words for a second and ad-libbed
It was great to see the place sold-out (looked like over 2000 people) and full of young people who are hopefully spreading the word about this great band.
I can remember seeing PT at NY's Bottom Line with only 150 people in attendance 6 years ago enjoying their new album at that time
Lightbulb Sun.
