Possibly. The new stories (there's also one cartoony reprint from the Dell era) are done in a traditional comic book style but with reasonably good resemblances to the real Stooges. Not photorealistic, but they do look like themselves.
Finally found another issue of American Mythology's The Three Stooges comic book series. There have supposedly been other issues since the first one I mentioned upthread, but none that were available digitally. This new one is the "April Fools' Day Special":
Again, a pretty good story where the boys look and act like themselves. It seems to exist in the same dateless era as the 2012 movie, so we see some nods to the present day, but it's also the 1930s and some other timeframes in between. The boys get thrown off a bus on the way to Poughkeepsie (which is still funny even today) and end up at a Renaissance fair, which they proceed to wreck in typical Stooges fashion. I enjoyed it. The backup story, however, was an ill-chosen Dell reprint with such poor writing and art that neither the script nor the pencils made it completely clear if I was reading about Curly Howard or Curly Joe DeRita.
I know that Moe and Curly of the Three Stooges were brothers in real life (along with Shemp). But were their characters supposed to be brothers as well? Or just friends, as their characters were with Larry?

That's a very interesting question.
I don't recall any instance where it was specifically addressed, but I'd guess that Moe and Curly (and Shemp) were supposed to be brothers even in character because they sometimes used their surnames in the shorts. "Calling Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard...."

That's a good point. Coincidentally, I just watched that one earlier today and should have thought of that.
Did the animated series in the opening post of this thread ever come about? I remember this announcement but I don't remember it ever actually coming to pass.
Am I the only one in the world(other than my kids) that didn't think the 2012 Three Stooges movie was terrible?
I liked it. It wasn't a revolutionary comedy or anything, but it was good fun.
I liked it too. Excellent impressions if nothing else. Seeing Moe destroy the Jersey Shore cast made the movie worthwhile all by itself.
