According to this teaser, Micky first had the idea for this album when NsN came out those many decades ago, and finally got around to doing it last year.

Who, me?
I was on the fence about this. I like the Monkees and I like Nesmith, but I'm not a fanatic. I finally picked it up, and I have to say it's a pleasant surprise. Mickey's voice isn't what it used to be, as expected, but he does a more than adequate job. What surprised me the most was the arrangements and the production, which are both first rate. So many late-career covers albums sound like tired versions of the originals. I can't say that about any of these tracks. I really enjoyed this the first time through, and I'll be going back to it.
