I voted for "Top Secret!", although the best Val Kilmer pinball machine is probably "Batman Forever".

Tombstone was his best acting job. I stand by the opinion that he was possessed and not in control for The Doors.

Tombstone. The guy was fantastic in everything he did in the 90s though. I even liked his Marlon Brando impression in Dr Moreau for the insane animal people orgy. It was the only good part of that movie. :)

His Brando impression really was the only good part of that movie.

Well, that and the little rat-men on the boat.

Had to go with Real Genius... my favorite 80s movie. I considered Tombstone, but he's definitely a supporting actor in that. In Real Genius, he's more of a main character.

I'm embarrassed for IMWAN at the number of Real Genius votes.

I am a big fan of eighties movies, thought I had watched nearly every popular one in my time, but I have never heard of Real Genius and its a bit spooky how all of you are pretending how you all casually know about this movie that clearly does not exist :paranoid:

I do not think it occupies the lofty perch that IMWAN does, riding the wave of a strong showing in the Beach family. I strongly suspect the Beach family has a bunch of "real geniuses" and they thought, "Finally, a movie about me!"

It is not recommended viewing for you.

By the way, I'm also a fan of The Ghost in the Darkness -- a movie Kilmer made with Michael Douglas about man-killing lions in Victorian-era Africa. As it happens, I just watched it this month.

Also Kiss, Kiss, Bang Bang -- he's playing almost a parody of himself, but he is awesome in it alongside Robert Downey, Jr.

In fact, every movie that Val's in EXCEPT for Real Genius, which only a deranged rampant
vagabond Yak could appreciate—and even they'd be lying.

The votes for Real Genius in this poll confirm a long-developed theory of mine: that there are actually more undisclosed Beaches lurking at IMWAN. Subtly shifting its direction in history, like Asimov's Foundation.
