Guitarist and vocalist Alexi Laiho, formerly of Children Of Bodom and later Bodom After Midnight, has died at 41. No cause of death has been given, but it's been described as "suddenly" and "after long-term health issues".

I got a Children of Bodom CD that was supposed to be one of their best, have to admit I didn't like it and never really went any further with the band. Laiho was a great guitar player though and the three albums he did with Sinergy were all great and criminally overlooked. Highly, highly recommended for all metalheads. Power metal with clean but very aggressive female vocals.
Top tier metal riffing. 20 year later and the transition at 2:12 still kills me every time and the riff from 2:14 - 2:24 is just a monster.
