This appears to be an Amazon UK exclusive. The CD includes the two extras from the Target edition ("I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face" and "Never Never Land"), and then adds one further bonus track, Taylor's cover of "Over The Rainbow" from his new digital EP:

In other words, $12-15 for one new track... Thanks, James!

Not really - there is the new EP Linda cited above that contains the 2 bonus tracks that are/were original to the "American Standard" Target exclusive edition. One could get that 3 track digital EP or choose to just get the "Over The Rainbow" track if they already had the Target version of "American Standard". So it's $ 3.87 for the 3 tracks or $ 1.29 for the one track.

i kind of agree.

this is just old school bullshit. re-releasing an album all of your fans already bought with an additional tack or 2.....wrong wrong wrong and greedy as all get out.

and they wonder why people steal music.

I kind of flat out disagree. The only new release is the "Over The Rainbow" song. Albeit it is not available on CD, but it can be purchased electronically for the going rate of a download. The other two songs were on the Target CD in the U.S. I do not know what was available in the U.K. as far as bonus tracks, but they have the option to purchase the 3 songs or the one song if they were not available on the original release. And people who steal this music are just stealers, since they can easily purchase whatever tracks they don't have.

I checked the Amazon UK site and the EP is available digitally there. So, this was done right, whether you blame the artist or the record company. They have not made anyone purchase the album twice and the option to purchase the bonus tracks are up to the individual.

Here's the Over The Rainbow EP available at Amazon UK:

you now have me totally confused.

you 'albeit it is not available on CD" yet the link above is for the CD.

if the song were 'download only' then i would agree with you totally, but when you put out the same CD you released a few months earlier with one additional song, shame on you, shame shame shame. and if taylor did not do this, than i apologize and take it all back. but please then explain to me what he did do.

What's confusing? If a person doesn't want to buy the CD with the 3 bonus songs they can purchase whatever song(s) they don't have electronically. In essence, what Taylor did do was issue an additional song Friday electronically that was not included on the Target edition that a person can buy separately. For the U.K. the same option is available. I mean damn if you have to have it altogether on a CD rip the Target CD and buy the download of Over The Rainbow and voila, you have the CD with the 3 bonus tracks.

I collect JT tracks. I have 6 CDs of tracks that did not appear on any of his albums. I already had the Target CD and I'm not a fan of downloads. So, for me, it's $12-15 to get 1 track on CD that was heretofore not on CD.

For collectors who hadn't yet gotten any version of American Standard, this is a great choice.

For collectors who own the general release edition with no bonus tracks, this is still a good pickup for three extra tracks that all fit with the theme of the album.

For collectors who got the Target edition, it's a harder choice (as Renny's been saying). But so many Target "exclusives" end up being supplanted by bigger editions more often than not.

Is it true that there is an eighteen dollar delivery charge on this item from the UK?

Right now it's showing me £13.44. It was less than half that when I first posted the CD, and I expect it will continue to fluctuate. (This is all because of the COVID situation.)

I copied my Target American Standard CD and added the Over The Rainbow track to the end of it. I copied the artwork and added the track as no. 17 to the back cover. So it's just like having the UK exclusive for $1.29, the cost of the download. I would have gotten the Over The Rainbow EP if it was available as a CD, since I am catalogue on JT, but there are no plans for a CD as of this time. (I asked)

For what it's worth, American Standard (Amazon Exclusive Extended Edition) can now be purchased directly through Amazon US. It'll cost you twenty bucks, but the outrageous shipping charge from the UK is eliminated. This method ought to save you ten bucks or so. Linda, do you want to put an Amazwan link on this?
