This is a good movie. Like, a really good movie. Bonus:
London gets massively firebombed.

I reckon you should post here more often. Your thesis isn't that important.

Maybe I could pad my thesis with a selection of my greatest message board hits? No one actually reads theses, right?

I saw this movie today.
Reminded me how good and effective a movie in a theatre could be. Holy crap.
Count me in for "28 Months Later."

I also liked it ... It probably could have used a bit less family drama and a bit more brutal zombie cannibalism goodness. Also, these film-makers are clearly not from the Romero school of zombie films, they just don't let us linger on the brutality for very long. A bit too much 'flash and pan' with the camera work, when we really wanted to sit and stare lovingly at the gore.
Probably could have done without all the modern political metaphors too (it should be harder to make the UK look like Iraq), but I can live with those. All in all, I give it 3 and 1/2 decapitated heads.

Any cast members from the first one in it?

I don't believe so, no one I recognized, anyway (hopefully, someone can correct me if I'm wrong) ... I would've liked to see what happened to the three survivors from the first film.

No one from the first film was in this.
Maybe we will see people from both movies for 28 Months Later.

Depending on which alternate ending you see, it's feasible that no one survived the first one.
I dearly love "28 Days Later". I love the hyper-kinetic camera work, the down n' dirty video feel, the bleak outlook, and the idea that you never give up. How does this compare? Is it "Aliens" or is it "Jaws 2"?

We are living in good times when filmmakers are able to make so many good "zombie" movies. 28 Weeks Later is one intense experience. A very worthy sequel to the equally excellent 28 Days Later.
Add in Shaun Of The Dead and the re-make of Dawn Of The Dead and I'm in zombie heaven!

Yup, these are good days for zombie fans. And you didn't even mention Romero's 'Land Of The Dead', which I thought was pretty good, and 'The Walking Dead' comic, which is a consistently good read.
Truly a Golden Age for the undead!

This is an "Aliens" rather than a "Jaws 2".
