IMWAN is long overdue for a dedicated Scooby-Doo thread. I will merge earlier topics into this one eventually, but for now let's open with this sad news:
Probably the only thing Ken Spears created that really endures in the public consciousness. But what an enduring thing!
RIP

I love the original and all incarnations of Scooby except the era that included Scrappy (and Scooby Dum, IIRC), The current show is a lot of fun with some very random guest stars, both real life people and comic characters. I enjoyed the Mystery Inc series a few years ago, which was a long running storyline for the whole show, rather than standalone episodes as is tradition. Scooby Doo is great.
Ken Spears' company also made perhaps the best cartoon adaption to the modern Superman comics, based mostly on the version that debuted in 1986 at the hands of Marv Wolfman, Jerry Ordway and another guy (not sure if I can say his name here, so I won't).
The traditional art style suggests that it probably won't be some misbegotten grim-and-gritty take. That's a hopeful sign.

The use of the term "drama" in connection with Scooby and the gang does not sound promising.
