This is our pooch, “Lola” who is 100% named after the Kinks monster hit song. Played it for the kids at ages 6 and 4. They just thought it flowed with our last name.

When I was a kid, I had a cat named Leon and a dog named Carney

I thought this was a thread about pet rocks.

We had a cat named Rhiannon.

My Mom had cats named Bruce and Clarence. I think Clarence was a female, though.

Thinking about it, Mom also had a cat named Rosalita. She had a lot of dogs and cats.

In the past when I was I kid we had a dog my older sister named Major Tom. My wife and I do not currently have any pets , our complex does not allow them. We do plan on moving in about 4 years and once settled down in our new home we will be getting a dog and my wife wants a cat which I’m against but I did agree to it as long as I can name it. She agreed so the cat will be named Geezer and the dog will be named Iommi.

I had a cat named Lynott after Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy.

I had an iguana named Iggy Pop. Wow. That was a long time ago.

I had a cocker spaniel I named Mona, after the Bo Diddley song.
The only cat I ever owned was a black - furred one, which I named Miles for Miles Davis.

Not rock and roll, but an Adele song was playing when I picked up my cat at the shelter. She's named Natalie Adele- Natalie after a character on the Monk TV show.

I had a cat named Zevon back in the 90s.

When the kids were very little my wife’s sister brought them two kittens from her cat’s litter. They were were identical orange tabbies and we named them “Lynyrd” and “Skynyrd”. When they turned out to be too aggressive for the little tykes they went back home to aunt Jenny. Kinda like their namesake band getting thrown out of bars for being too rowdy!

Growing up we had a cat named Depeche after the famous British synthesizer group. Lovely cat.
