A lot of artists have drawn the Dark Knight over a lot of years. In light of that,2 votes are offered.

Can I pick nine? There are a lot of artists I like on that list!

I've liked many of those artists, but I had to go with Neal Adams and Marshall Rogers.

Neither of my top two are on the list! My vote for "Other" means Carmine Infantino and Curt Swan.

I decided to vote in spite of the many great picks. My favorite Bat artist is Jim Aparo, so it was really deciding who to go for second place, and I decided on Bruce Timm, who really takes from almost all eras of Bat artists. So I'm covered.

I went with Don Newton just to give him some love ( i figured Adams would do okay without my help, and Neal still owes me money!), and Marshall Rogers because I really enjoyed buying those comics off the shelves and buying newspapers just so I could clip his Batman strip out of them.

I went with Rogers and Sprang. Rogers was my first favorite artist. At the time he came on the scene I was ten, and I'd been reading comics since before I could actually read, but prior to him I'd never really paid much attention to who was doing the art. He was the first artist who caught my attention, and started me on the road to seeing and appreciating the differences between artists.
Sprang did so many great stories I read as reprints as a kid, and really exemplified the best of the "pre-New Look" Batman.
I agree that Infantino should be on this list. The New Look was one of the most radical revamps of a character's look ever, and Infantino was a key part of it. I'd also put in a good word for Bob Brown, the third Bat-artist (along with Adams and Novick) during that great early-70s period when they eschewed super-villains and got back to the character's roots as a detective.

Bob Brown was definitely underrated. He did good work on Batman, Superboy, the Challengers of the Unknown for DC. Then worked on the Avengers and Daredevil in the '70s.

He's not listed, but my favorite Batman artist is Tim Sale, so one vote for "other".
Also voted for Neal Adams in a heartbreaking tough decision over Jim Aparo.

Jim Aparo was certainly one of the definitive Batman artists, but I have it in my mind that THAT Batman is the Brave and the Bold Batman, and I always thought of him as… not quite the Earth-1 Batman. He was someone else, friendlier, more likely to work in a monthly team-up book.

He did 23 Batman stories total plus three months' worth of newspaper strips, but only 11 of those stories were during his 70s heyday. But it still works out that he did more Batman stories than he did of any other character, which shows how relatively little comics work he did overall. Anyway his six issues with Englehart were so great (and hit at just the right time to have a huge impact on me) that I had to vote for him.

Yep, this is me too; while I loved Marshall's work the quality AND volume of Adams and Aparo just make them too much to beat. Add in the childhood memories of "my" Batman (see O'neil thread), and its no contest.

If we're allowed to do a top 5, mine would be:
1) Tim Sale 2) Neal Adams 3) Jim Aparo 4) Dustin Nguyen 5) Kelley Jones

Neal Adams and Brian Bolland as the 'other' vote.

And he had an insane brother, and a wife and teenage son (assuming the B&B Batman was the same guy as the Haney-written World's Finest Batman). Aparo did draw some "real" Batman stories in the 70s too though. A few for Archie Goodwin during his short run on Detective, and a few of Len Wein's Bat-Murderer series.

I went with the two I feel were most influential since the Silver Age -- Neal Adams and Bruce Timm. Visually, of course -- Frank Miller was hugely influential to how he was written but I think more people tried to draw Batman like Adams and Timm.
