I just saw BOC’s Heaven Forbid in Amazon. Looking at the picture of the back cover it shows it was released in 2020 on the Frontiers label. I read in the past Frontiers was going to release this and Curse Of The Hidden Mirror. There wasn’t any info about it listed. Has anyone purchased this ? Was it remastered ? It’s only available from 3rd party sellers , most of who have lousy feedback so I guess I’ll wait until amazon has it in stock.

It's a straight reissue with no remastering. This came out back in March in all territories outside North and South America. Frontiers haven't said anything about a domestic release date, so anyWAN looking for this should just get it as an import:

This is a fantastic album. Either get it now if one is impatient or wait for a semi-domestic release.

Pretty sure it’s not getting a domestic release. I think it’s a licensing issue with CMC.

These are not getting a US release, but I thought they were getting remastered?

No?

The first press release from January says (this is translated from the original Italian):

Quote:
"Heaven Forbid" is the 13th studio album of Blue Oyster Cult. Originally released in Europe on March 24, 1998, it was the first album of original material after "imaginos" from 1988. Science fiction author John Shirley contributed enormously to the album, writing the lyrics of almost all the tracks except two. A live version of the track 'In Thee' has been included in this reissue. "Heaven forbid" is a hard rock slap of class, made up of intricate arrangements, provocative lyrics and overwhelming guitar solos.

It's phrased as though it's a bonus track, but the live "In Thee" was on the original album. There are 11 tracks total on this new CD, no extras, and it's referred to simply as a reissue here.

The second press release from March says:

Quote:
Remastered by Alessandro Del Vecchio at Ivorytears Music Works

Meaning, it was worked on by this man:
