That's cool. I am missing In A Silent Way (I have the 'long box") and the Coltrane
(Technically not true - I do have the entire metal spine set in the Trumpet Case collector's edition - which I have not opened).
So I can complete them.
I thought The Complete Cellar's Door was missing from the post, but while it has the same box set presentation it is not a metal spine.

The live Cellar Door, Plugged Nickel, and Blackhawk boxes are all outside the metal spine series which focused—for the most part—on the studio recordings.
I too have the trumpet case; it was the one thing I took when Hurricane Dorian chased us out of town last year.

I wanted the trumpet case, but since I already had all the metal spine series, I just couldn't justify it. (My Miles collection is literally over 500 CDs and around 100 LPs. By the time the trumpet case was announced, I just couldn't pull the trigger.)

Yeah, I had a good deal on the trumpet case. When I looked up more info on the re-release I did see the following news item
https://consequenceofsound.net/2020/03/ ... s-box-set/
which if accurate means the trumpet case is also being released. If accurate so much for the 'value' of the original run, which is why I just wanted to keep it alone...I like the look of it.
I ended up getting it as I had most of the metal spine, but the two I did not, the only way was the long box, and to justify the long box I had to have the metals somehow (crazy how we (I) think).

That kind of thinking is perfectly natural for me!

If they are rereleasing the trumpet box, I will have to talk myself out of buying it again.
Looking into the set again, I am shocked to discover the trumpet case set was released in 2010! It seems like 2-3 years ago. Boy, am I getting old.

I bought each set as it came out. Then later on eBay bought a brand new trumpet case—sans the box sets—but with all the tchotchkes.
Some of those empty cases may still be out there.
