R.I.P. Bill. I am going to have to pull out my DVD documentary to watch again in your honor. I remember enjoying it when I watched it after buying it. May your memory be a blessing to family, friends and fans.

Yes, Bill Withers wrote "Ain't No Sunshine" and was the original singer with the hit. The song has been covered many times by other singers.

Yes!

Quote:
"Ain't No Sunshine" is a song by Bill Withers from his 1971 album Just As I Am, produced by Booker T. Jones. The record featured musicians Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass guitar, Al Jackson Jr. on drums and Stephen Stills on guitar.[1] String arrangements were done by Booker T. Jones, and recorded in Memphis by engineer Terry Manning. The song is in the key of A minor.

This is a sad one. So many memories from younger days.

At this terrible time, listening to "Lovely Day" has a pretty good chance of putting a smile on your face. Try it.

"Ain't No Sunshine" a great song from an amazing year of music 1971.

‘‘Lean On Me” always hit a sweet spot for me even back when I was 12. Always a song that you listen to all the way through when it would come on the radio.

This one truly hurt. Is it weird I was a little comforted to read that it WASN'T Coronavirus-related?

Not weird because I had the same reaction.

Withers was such a big part of the soundtrack to my life in the 1970's, but I think a lot of folks could say that. RIP
