Memories flooding back today. Saw these legends in the late '70s at the old Philly Spectrum. Trotters then had two teams touring the country: one featuring Meadowlark and Curly; the other featuring Geese Ausbie and Marcus Haynes.
A truly memorable night. And it was always a big deal when they showed up on tv back in the days when you only had eight channels; usually on Wide World of Sports.

RIP. I remember watching the Globetrotters on Wide World of Sports, too. It was a very big deal.

Loved Curly. Very sad.

Loved watching the Trotters on Wide World. It may have been a bit of a set piece, but it was always a special moment when Curly went into his ball-handling spotlight. That never got old.

Curly and Meadowlark were quite a pair. The Globetrotters were always big fun to watch.

He was in the Emmy award winning classic , The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan’s Island TV movie.

My mom took me to see the Globetrotters several times when I was growing up. One time I even got to sit down on the court with the players just a few feet away. Great fun. Like Linda, I even enjoyed the cartoon series. RIP Curley.
