I bought one from Staples, so the kids would have their very own computer to do schoolwork on.

Awww...what a sweet dad, I know.

Well, not wanting to break the bank, I bought an Acer. It had been previously used/returned (unbeknownst to me and WalMart, apparently) and I attempted to use it, and it kept shutting down.

Return.

A week later, in Staples, picked up a niftier Acer computer, again very affordable. Now about a month later, the POS won't even work.

It's getting returned, thankfully I bought the extended warranty. I will either upgrade to anything other than an Acer, likely a Compaq. Or, if they give me a credit for the computer plus the warranty, I'll turn around and buy a MacBook or MacBookPro.



Anyone care to sing Acer's praises, and say it was only me?

Or, MacBook's praises that I'm making a wise decision.

I never hear good things about Acer. I always send people to Dell when they ask me for advice. Seldom does anyone complain, and their bundles can't be beat.
I've never owned a MacBook (or any other Mac), but people I know who have them love them.

Yes. Buy Dell so that Judge WAN Jr. can continue to eat.

Refunded and done.

For now, I'll stick with my HP laptop and the iMac for Mommy.

Probably another computer in our future around Christmas.

In recent years everything I've worked with has been Dells. I'd never even heard of Acer until now.
