Remaster like the recent discs?

This wasn't solicited as part of the recent remaster series. Until we have a description from the label, we can't be sure if it's a remaster or just a straight reissue.

Only one disc?

The original double album was 100 minutes long.

It lists the original 18 tracks, so WAN assumes it will turn out to be two discs.

Yeah, I just checked the thread of the studio remasters. Those were BMG.

I kinda think Maiden will put out the live stuff as they did with the studio works. If they do that, I hope they do Maiden Japan. I had that on vinyl way back when. Good album, although short.

IMO, the greatest live album ever made.

What they need to do is put out a singles box set on CD which would be a day one buy for me as Iron Maiden were the kings of great B-sides for their first 10 years or so. Maiden Japan would fit in nicely in that set (but would have to be the 5-track American EP version, as the UK version was only 4-tracks and considered a single).

I hope it's restored to the proper two discs it should be.

The 1998 remaster restored the fourth side, but bunched sides 1, 2 & 3 on the first CD so they could put some videos and CD_ROM bonus stuff on the second CD.

CD_ROM stuff I probably didn't watch.

That's the one I have. It's not bad (the remaster) for its time, but we need a fresh remaster. It's one of the best live albums made.

OK, we have an update from Sanctuary (which is distributed from BMG by the way, so it really is the same company). Live After Death and Rock In Rio are both going to be released on the same day, April 24th, as 2CD sets. These are the remastered tracks that were originally put out only as vinyl and digital releases in 2015. As with "The Studio Collection" series that wrapped up last year, these two releases are being referred to as "The Live Collection".

I might have to get the Rock In Rio disc; I don't have any live Maiden from after Bruce's return, and that looks like a pretty representative set.

I'm currently on my 4th copy of Live After Death (and it's the 2 disc remaster), so I'll be passing on the new one.

Just went to order these - the pages aren't coming up for me.

BMG always seems to do this, put out listings for pre-order then pull them, then list them again. Don't worry, they'll be back up soon.

I worry less about their return and more about me remembering to order them in time when they are back!

Charlie or I (or whoever else sees them relisted first) will bump the thread.

I did encounter something odd last night when I first saw this. I tried to order this on my iPad - Rock In Rio added to the cart w/no issues. Live After Death, however - I could click on the button, but it did nothing. Didn't add to the cart, didn't refresh the screen, nothing. Today, on my desktop, worked like a champ.

Why are sides 1-3 on disc one?

I was hoping they'd go back to the original double album sequence.
