The Anvil

Description
After their initial success with the hit single Fade To Grey and the self-titled debut album, Visage returned in 1982 with another groundbreaking and innovative album, The Anvil. Including the UK top 20 singles The Damned Don't Cry and Night Train, The Anvil soared into the UK top 10 album chart, firmly establishing the New Romantic super group as bonafide hit makers. With sophisticated dance beats and haunting melodies, masterminded primarily by Ultravox front man Midge Ure and delivered by the inimitable Steve Strange, Visage had their legacy guaranteed. This brand new 2020 edition CD reissue of The Anvil has been newly remastered from original master tapes and boasts 7 bonus tracks including B sides, rare dance mixes, and a previously unreleased remix, along with an 8-page booklet including extensive sleeve notes by journalist Steve Pafford.

Fade To Grey: The Singles Collection

Image

Description
With two successful albums and seven well received singles over the previous several years, the time was ripe for a Visage album compiling highlights from that accomplishment. Originally released in late 1983, Fade To Grey - The Singles Collection was a milestone for a band who brought New Romantic to the singles chart and the dance floors. Those who bought the cassette edition were in for a surprise to find not only a number of dance mixes not on the LP, but the album segued from one track into the next for a non-stop Visage experience. The popularity of this 'Special Dance Mix Album' led to a very limited vinyl pressing, which has since become a sought after collector's item. This rare edition album is now making its first ever CD appearance, remastered from original master tapes. Several bonus tracks have also been added, including the single and dub mixes of the top twenty hit Night Train, a 'Bonus Beats' mix of the 1982 single Pleasure Boys, and the rare B side Frequency 7 from the 1979 debut single Tar.

Tracklist
1. Fade To Grey
2. Mind Of A Toy
3. Visage
4. We Move (Remix)
5. Tar
6. In The Year 2525
7. The Anvil
8. Night Train
9. Pleasure Boys
10. The Damned Don't Cry
Bonus Tracks:
11. Frequency 7
12. Night Train (7" Remix)
13. Der Amboss
14. Pleasure Boys (Bonus Beats)
15. Night Train (Dub Mix)

(Now that we're getting proper general releases of these two expanded remasters, I've removed the previous thread which was on our Collector's Corner board.)

The March 6th general releases above are a little cheaper (with free shipping), but if you can't bear to wait, the CDs can already be obtained directly from the label via their Amazon storefront at these URLs:
