Description
Then Play On is the third studio album by British blues rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 19 September 1969. It was the first of their original albums to feature Danny Kirwan and the last with Peter Green. The album, appearing after the group's sudden success in the pop charts, offered a broader stylistic range than the classic blues of the group's first two albums. The album went on to reach #6 in the UK, subsequently becoming the band's fourth Top 20 hit in a row, as well as their third album to reach the Top 10. The title is taken from the opening line of William Shakespeare's play Twelfth Night — "If music be the food of love, play on".

This deluxe "Celebration Edition" comes in 16 page mediabook packaging with new sleevenotes by Anthony Bozza including a personal foreword by Mick Fleetwood. The CD features the original UK tracklist plus four bonus tracks.

Tracklist
1. Coming Your Way
2. Closing My Eyes
3. Fighting For Madge
4. When You Say
5. Showbiz Blues
6. Underway
7. One Sunny Day
8. Although The Sun Is Shining
9. Rattlesnake Shake
10. Without You
11. Searching For Madge
12. My Dream
13. Like Crying
14. Before The Beginning
Bonus Tracks:
15. Oh Well, Part 1
16. Oh Well, Part 2
17. The Green Manalishi (With The Two-Pronged Crown)
18. World In Harmony

This appears to be a reissue of the 2013 Rhino remaster which contained the same track list including the bonus tracks. Excellent remastering by Chris Bellman. The only difference is that edition came in a jewel case and had a 12 page booklet with liner notes by David Fricke and this one comes in a mediabook with notes by Bozza and Fleetwood.

this confounds me.

why 'then play on'?

why bonus tracks form other albums?.

why now?

awfully random.

The bonus tracks are actually originally non-LP singles that were recorded with this line-up of the band and fit the chronology of this era. Then Play On was released in the U.S. in September 1969, then rereleased in November 1969 with "Oh Well" added to it. I don't think the other two tracks appeared on any other albums at the time.

Right on.
This may be their version of a 50th Anniversary deal, which they missed by a few months, but unless one wants the new liner notes I don't see any reason to get it if you have the 2013 release.
Maybe they wanted something out that would take advantage of Fleetwood's Peter Green tribute show.

Same mastering as the 2013 Rhino, by the way.

Which was very well done. The album needed a great digital version and Rhino provided it.

Correct, Green Manilishi did not appear on album until 1971 on the Greatest Hits LP, World in Harmony looks to the come out on a 1972 Best Of LP.
