Description
In April 1995, commuters walking through Grand Central were pleasantly surprised to stumble upon Simon and her band performing a full, unannounced concert in the middle of the main terminal. The concert—Simon’s first in fourteen years—was filmed and aired on Lifetime for a television special which was released on VHS later that year. The video has been digitized and converted to HD, re-edited and the audio has been re-mixed by multi-Grammy Award winning producer and engineer, Frank Filipetti and re-mastered. Live at Grand Central will be available on CD and Blu-ray for the first time on January 27 via Iris Records, distributed by MRI/Sony.

if i am not mistaken that song is on her box set.....or one of her many best of's, not sure where.

Touched By The Sun is on Clouds In My Coffee box set, as well as Letters Never Sent. The version posted above is a 2019 newly remixed single from the Live At Grand Central Station concert.

the 'letters never sent' version is studio, the other is live from grand central station, which made it one of the rarities on her box set.

I wonder what happened to the DVD release in early 2020? Legacy announced the highly anticipated DVD of the full concert will follow the newly mixed single “Touched by the Sun" early in 2020 on Oct 22, 2019. It doesn't seem like covid-19 was the hold up. I consider early 2020 to be Jan. Feb. or March. Hard to say what happened to it. I hope it hasn't been scrapped?

I see there is a little news on this release. Apparently it is still coming. I saw this on an article in Billboard, dated 2/9/2021:

Simon, 75, is currently preparing to release a remastered version of her famed 1995 concert filmed inside New York’s Grand Central Station, saying that the revamped footage is coming soon. Last week, Billboard caught up with the icon by phone from her home in Martha’s Vineyard, to revisit her momentous self-titled debut, just how it was forged and many of the career highlights that passed by since, like clouds in her coffee.

just finished it, and the sound is really really nice, for a 30 year old recording they did a pretty good job.

i saw 2 shows on this tour though and i definitely remember them being much longer than 65 minutes. i do believe that they cut some things out, i know for sure she did 'you're so vain' which is not on there.

interesting that only 'anticipation' and 'coming around again' were on her first live album from 1987.
