I came across the list of Rolling Stone 100 greatest singers. I saw where there were some controversial choices. What a surprise. So I got to thinking, what would be my choice of some of the best singers, based just on their voices - any genre. Not based on songwriting, hits, etc. - just based on their great singing voice to your ears.

Here are some of mine:
Art Garfunkel
Kenny Rankin
Kenny Loggins
David Crosby
George Michael
Joni Mitchell
Karen Carpenter
Phoebe Snow
Laura Nyro
James Taylor
Linda Ronstadt
Rumer
Boz Scaggs
Stevie Wonder

I just think it's funny that Rolling Stone felt the need to censor Joe ****er.

I see a couple that should have made my list. kd Lang does have a great voice. Al Green - yeah! Daryl Hall does have a great voice. Timothy B. also. Diana Ross & Carly Simon - overall I love them.

Tons of Blues guys, but I feel like they're more "distinctive" than "best".
