GB made some great music with Cream and he was one of the greatest drummers of all time, if not arguably, the best. Just last month I watched a documentary about him, Beware Mr Baker which highlighted is inarguable talent as well as his volatile and explosive personality. Rest easy Ginger.

I was very lucky to get to see Ginger Baker and friends (Cream) play Madison Square Garden on Oct 24th 2005 on their reunion tour (only dates in London and NY). He was a force of nature on the drums much like Keith Moon. Still have my t-shirt from that show. RIP.

with cream and then blind faith (the first 'super' group) baker was probably the 3rd most well known drummer coming out of the 60's, behind ringo starr and dave clark.
then beginning in the 70's drummers started getting a lot of recognition like they never got before.
watts, moon, bruford, bonham and a few others stood out, then the session guys started getting notice (keltner, kunkel etc)
