Description
As the influential drummer from iconic rock 'n' roll band The Hollies, Bobby Elliott has six decades worth of musical anecdotes. Continually touring since 1963, his adventures have seen him beating Keith Moon in a drumming audition for Shane Fenton and the Fentones, being serenaded by Joni Mitchell while she was in bed with Graham Nash, and being offered a job by Paul McCartney to work with Wings. Covering all such stories as well as exploring Bobby's personal highs and lows, "It Ain't Heavy, It's My Story" is a funny, honest, and enlightening account of sixty years on the frontline of rock 'n' roll.

“The long-awaited autobiography of legendary Hollies' drummer Bobby Elliott.”

Well, it’s finally exiting the pipeline, 5 years in the making. Drummer Bobby tells his story, before, during, and between his life in The Hollies. Based on his personal diaries over the many decades.

224 pages, in a 9 x 6 x 3/4” book. So, a little shorter than Graham’s autobio, but a little longer than Brian Southall’s Hollies bio.

Alas I was hoping for more, but here’s to hoping for quality over quantity. Good times for Hollies fans, between this and Allan’s new CD.

Operator’s will be standing by…

Bannings: If you're not nice
There should be an entire chapter devoted to his wigs, which were the best in the music business. (Seriously.)

He'll be saving that for the upcoming deluxe coffee table book - "They ain't heavy, they're my hairstyles", featuring each and every wig being showcased in a series of high quality photographs, along with footnotes written by the world's most iconic wigmakers.
