I went for Len Wein. A lot happened in his run and it was great fun.

Stern, David and Mantlo would be next on my list.

As much as I'm enjoying Ewing's current run, and as much as I enjoyed John Byrne's brief run, I have to go with Bill Mantlo.

He wrote Incredible Hulk #272 which is, for reasons I can't even articulate, one of my favourite comics of all time. One of my favourite works of fiction of all time, really. He won my vote.

Ewing's run is the most enjoyable in a long time.

As for John Byrne, his first stint is good, and it looked like he had an overall plan / arc in play, but it got a bit repetitive. Biggest development was Bruce marrying Betty.

His 2nd run...well it had nice Ron Garney art.

Peter David. The issues he did with Keown are some of my favorites ever, read when I was about 11 or 12, and hold a special place in my heart.

All these puns are inappropriate for a dark character like the Hulk.

PAD would never have approved of this.
