2019 marks 40 years of the Scottish band Simple Minds' existence and to celebrate that UMC are proud to announce a new compilation album that covers all 40 years of the band's recorded output including a new song 'For One Night Only' that makes its first appearance here. 40: The Best Of – 1979 – 2019 3CD deluxe edition is a newly complied anthology that covers the band's career from the very beginning to present day, it has been compiled in conjunction with the band and presents the very best of the bands extensive catalogue. The album was remastered at the world-famous Abbey Road studios and have new art by long-time collaborator Stuart Crouch which represents the 40 years.

Looks like Universal jumped the gun on this. 40 has temporarily vanished from Amazon, but will be back. Stay tuned!

Maybe Dave tipped them off. Oh yeah say the compilers, we did release a comprehensive collection just recently.

Wow. Are some tracks really repeated? See "Waterfront", "Glittering Prize, and "See the Lights" in both single versions and album versions.

I hope I can just "stay tuned" for a cd-single of the new track - but I doubt that will happen.

Good news this morning. The 40 compilation is back up for pre-order, this time as a nice domestic release. While the new song "For One Night Only" won't be released separately as a CD single, it is going to be included on a 1CD distillation of 40, so collectors who want only that track can opt for the smaller edition:
