the description is a bit confusing, it says:
"is available in full on CD for the first-time outside Japan"
i have a copy on 'one way' records, which i'm sure was done in the US.
however, they may mean in this total reincarnation, but i don;t think that the edited version has ever been on CD, anywhere.
anyway, this album, for those who have not heard it, is definitely like scotch, an acquired taste for sure. i really don;t even know how to explain it, musically interesting, lots of spoken dialogue and some very strange noises produced by the gizmo. the album was intended to be a showcase for the gizmo, but i really don;t think it ever caught on, in fact, i would be hard=pressed to tell you any other artist other than godley & creme who even used it.
it will also be interesting to see what price they will ask for this. used copies of the one-way can be quite expensive.

Wow. I have that One Way label 2CD set; I used to have the 3-LP box but sold it when I got the CD's; I've never seen the "music-only CD", though I knew of its existence from comments on the Hoffman forum's "10CC/Godley & Crème albums" thread going on there right now. The One Way CD's sound good, though I remember some distortion on Sarah Vaughn's vocals on one track (which isn't really a favorite anyway). I'm not sure if this is worth getting just for the remastering, but the extra stuff makes it tempting. All depends upon the price. I don't understand one thing: why does this new version need 3 CD's for the original album, when it all fit easily on 2 CD's for the One Way version? To duplicate the original 3 LP's? Hmmmm...

From the notes above, this version, mastered by Andy Pearce and overseen by Godley and Creme and is available in full on CD, contains the original album as well as the previously mentioned Music Excerpts from Consequences album and for the first time on CD the promotional edit album.
With Andy Pearce working with Godley & Crème and all the extras I appreciate the expanded set big-time..
Previously this was the two-fer that enabled you to get the Music of Consequences only:
Still having the original boxset and German CD issue clamshell set, I am still very excited about this release.
With all the climate change occurrences this forewarning from the 70's is more profound than it's initial conception.

It's a mixed bag. There are some stunning moments, and some dreck I could do without. Ultimately it's adventurous and bold and I admire them for it. I may skip around on the CD when I get it, but I will definitely play it.

I've always liked most of the strictly musical tracks, but very few of the Peter Cook spoken-word tracks. That's why I'd love to have the "music-only" disc, which I've never seen in any store over the years. I also have "Body of Work", the recent 5-CD box that covers the rest of their discography, and I own lots of 10CC. I bought "L" after hearing "Sandwiches of You" on the radio back when it was first released. About that time I bought 10CC's "Original Soundtrack", and that's when I started collecting everything those guys did. I prefer the more experimental stuff, which is why "Consequences" is right down my alley.

I am personally psyched for this reissue. With all the attention of detail that it is going into it makes this an auto purchase. Pre-ordered!
As for the "aural" play with Peter Cook I find it trip. Funny, provocative and mystifying. Plus the sound effects induced by the Gizmo is a real treat.

Uh-oh... Looking at the tracklisting for the "music-only" CD, I see that it's mostly the tracks with vocals, not all of the instrumentals, too. I wanted all the tracks without Peter Cook. Guess I'll pass on this and just continue to skip Peter Cook tracks on my One Way CD's.

Except for the spoken bits, which are pretty heavy at moments, I'm loving this more than expected.
that's why music is so intriguing.
i absolute love 10cc and every thing about them and every album from every band member, yet i put consequences at the very bottom of a very large discography.

Not my assessment, many of the latter day 10cc albums were really padded with trite.

Totally agree, Rick. I love everything up to "Bloody Tourists", then I thought the song-writing dropped off a cliff.

interesting, i think 'meanwhile' is sublime. and 'mirror mirror' has its excellent moments too.
the GG06 stuff is good, not great, but good.
both gouldman solo albums of late were wonderful, stewart's last 2 albums were decent, and lol creme in the producers (i know its trevor horn's band) is the best album of the last 10 years.

I'll admit I gave up on them a few years back so haven't heard the Stewart or Gouldman albums. I agree the Producers is excellent, and also agree it's Trevor Horn's band, so I give him the credit, not Lol Creme.
